Hello and Welcome. My name is Carol. I bought my first crate cover in 1999 at a dog show. it was small and basic. I had a Pomeranian embroidered on the front a few years later. I searched and searched for another cover when my one show Pomeranian turned into three show Pomeranians. I could never find them. I asked around. NOTHING.
So one year, about 10 or 15 years later. I boxed up that one cover that is now very old and shipped it to my wonderful sister, Lori, who sews and sews and sews. She loves quilting and embroidering. I asked her if she could make me one more in pink, as mine was blue, but to make it bigger. When I came to visit her a few weeks later, to my surprise, she made me not one, but Four. All different in colors and features with a different Pomeranian embroidered on them, and my kennel name. She also made a matching large tote bag that I am still using as a grooming bag.
In 2012, a friend of mine, Barbara and I became real good friends and she started going to dog shows with me. We decided one night, to start making these covers, as she has sewn her whole life, and I am not working due to car accident with back n neck injuries. We have tons of fabric already AND we love to buy new fabric.
So here we are, both trying to make ends meet and provide a handmade product that is hard to find. Some r made by me, and some by her. We also make other items like crate pads, dog diapers, female britches, and soon crate bumper pads for the whelping crates.
Photo below.. my setup in 2011. light blue cover was my first cover from 1999. and the others are from my sister, Lori. Boy, I have come along way. I will have to take a photo of my new setup at the next show.
